I walked away from the doctor’s about a month ago with blood test results that indicated slightly high (bad) cholesterol, and slightly low (good). So, knowing my lifestyle, the good doctor prescribed Lipitor. Little scary, it’s like crossing that line that says you’re not 20 anymore. It was a disaster. See here for the long version.
DW and I were going on our week end walks, and then it got cold… and then we didn’t go. So I decided to join a fitness Gym. Energie Cardio. Loads of machines, trainers and Sauna. No Pool. 1 year membership. So it’s a commitment!
Today was my second visit. Lot’s to observe in a new environment like this. Mostly people keep to their own. There’s the odd Jock. I had never seen a female Jock before. I think what I like the most about it is the attitude.
People go there, because they care about themselves. That gives the place an aura of its own. During training there’s almost null interaction. People are busy doing what they came there to do. The only interaction was amongst
either buddies who came together or a few “couples” which I noticed tonight.
Nothing too exciting to report yet on my second visit, but I do hope that in the course of the year I can bring you some juicy stories.
Some observations
Age category: Well I’m probably the oldest guy there, and I’m not over fifty! The ladies, probably average a little older.
Dress code, well some of the ladies manage to look pretty good. The guys that are there already look good and in shape (compared to me).
Activities: Most of the ladies, stick to the machines or the classes. The guys: 30 % on the machines, 60% in the weights and perhaps 10 % on the mats.
So tell me, do you follow a regular exercise program? I have it from good sources that exercise also increases the sex drive. DW’s looking at me with big eyes,
